[YEAH, that's kind of Stephen's preference. The lacerations on his lips are starting to scab over, his tongue painful and his arm carefully bandaged.]
If they're metal...I know someone who should have been able to sense them. Either it's not widespread...yet...or they've been selectively damping his powers.
[Maybe if he doesn't look too closely at the other man's lips, Jonathan won't feel guilty. It's possible it could work. Perhaps.]
It would not be the first time I've heard of powers being selectively removed or even altered. My own have a habit of not working at inopportune moments. Particularly moments where LIEs might be involved. Perhaps you've noticed the same for your own?
[Wow Jonathan way to jump straight to Stephen's history of repeat failure to prevent his magic being taken away . He shoots the vampire a look.]
Of course I've noticed. It wouldn't be the first time it's happened to any of us, only...why this? Why something relatively subtle when they can move us here and there at their will?
[Jonathan raises a brow right back. He has no idea why that would be so offensive.]
They seem keen to throw us off-balance constantly. It is easier to unbalance a man completely when you shift his footing even a little bit so he's uneven.
Have you found any more of these devices in other people? And is there even the slightest chance you can get him to stop incriminating the Haven on the network?
Yes. [A pause.] To both your queries, sir. I've found them in a number of other individuals from our program at this point. None in the same place, but all possessing a number of similar character on them. Mr. Vale called it a 'serial number.' As for Mr. Tepes... he is, unfortunately, a bit unwise. I did not anticipate him be in so direct about our findings.
[Jonathan isn't going to say that, but he'll agree on principle in silence.]
Neria's requested it take place outside of Haven. I cannot say I blame her. We've already had more unwanted attention from this than I'd like. I've been working to use my... to use what magic I have to see find the trackers in others. I can typically identify them based on the flow of blood, if you'd like me to look for one in you now?
[The fact that he can't even be that irritated given recent events just leaves Jonathan frowning at Stephen.]
Not at all. It's little different from my usual means of seeing such things. It's just a greater focus on the movements of the blood rather than the quality of it.

We'll all need to be scanned for these devices. Myself, Erik, Charles....

That sounds like an interesting magical adaptation. How likely are you to lose control of yourself and maul me if I say yes?
