[A proper Tudor Christmas is 12 days long, so Ivy's not concerned when it takes a few more days to finish her project than expected. She leaves it on Jonathan's desk, tied with a ribbon and accompanied with a note.
It wasn't difficult to repair the umbrella she found, but she also made a few improvements. The handle conceals a thin steel sword, razor sharp. Furthermore, the fabric has been treated by some process, made more durable, and curiously, so dark it seems to actually be absorbing the light around and beneath it. It can't completely mitigate sunlight, of course, but will serve as a shield in a pinch.
